Ron Tomlinson
Teaching: His teaching experience began with mentoring other students in Math and Physics in college (for which he won a merit of recognition), and with teaching English as a Second Langauage to children and adult groups of different ethnic backgrounds and nationalities abroad for 3 years. Currently he is certified to teach courses by Energy Safety Canada, Red Cross, Fall Protection Group, Global and CanSafe Safety Services. He is currently working on his Provincial (BC) Instructor Diploma.
Industry: Ron has been in the Oil Field Industry since 1989, primarily on building pipeline and facility projects, from entry level to inspection level positions. In addition to providing industrial safety training, he also works as a Field Safety Co-ordinator, consulting on oil field construction projects, on facility shut-downs, on general construction sites; and public utilities and facilities. As a certified Construction Safety Officer (CSO), he is a member of ASTTBC (Applied Science Technologists and Technicians of BC), and a professional member of the CSSE (Canadian Society of Safety Engineering). In addition to his certification as a Construction Safety Officer, his educational background includes Level III First Aid Medic (BC), Aviation Diploma from Red Deer College and a Certificate in Project Management from Mount Royal College.
